Gerard Hussain

Behaviour Support Practitioner

BPsych

Gerard is a Behaviour Support Practitioner with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a background as an elite-level athlete, bringing a distinctive perspective to his practice. His senior thesis explored the unconscious and conscious states of human cognition, deepening his understanding of what shapes human behaviour.

Gerard's work is grounded in building secure relationships and empowering clients to manage emotions, develop self-care and social skills, and grow in independence. He has particular experience supporting neurodivergent teens in educational settings, and a strong professional interest in the mental health and wellbeing of young men.

Central to Gerard's practice is reducing stigma around neurodivergence and advocating for greater understanding, supporting clients to build confidence, belonging, and a sense of their own capability.

Gerard is currently accepting new behaviour support referrals in Melbourne and online.
